The Building Ministers' Forum took place on Friday 10 August where ministers held an Industry Forum with a number of peak industry groups including Master Plumbers Australia to discuss views on the ‘Building Confidence – Improving the effectiveness of compliance and enforcement systems for the building and construction industry across Australia’ Report (Building Confidence Report).

Treasurer Scott Morrison delivered his third Commonwealth Budget in Canberra last night, the last before the next federal election, which must be held by May 2019. Mr Morrison said the Budget is focused on further strengthening the economy to “guarantee the essentials Australians rely on” and “responsibly repair the budget”.
