HR Health Check
An HR Health Check is a structured review of your business’s people‑management practices, policies and compliance obligations. It helps you understand what’s working well, where potential risks may be hiding, and what opportunities exist to strengthen your HR foundations.
MPAQ members have access to an online one-on-one consultation of one hour per member with one of our HR advisory team members. The consultation can be used to work through the many different aspects of HR in your business that you may be uncertain of or need further clarity on to reduce the risks to your business. Some of the areas we can assist with include:
- Employment contracts
- Awards and paying staff – including plumbing, clerical and building and constructions awards
- Policies and procedures
- Performance management issues
- Terminating staff
- Workplace obligations – superannuation, work cover, etc.
- Taking on apprentices
- Bullying, harassment and discrimination information and/or training
- Training specific to the member's business in relation to HR

To access this member service, please complete the HR Health Check form, which will be sent to our HR advisory team, and someone will contact you regarding a suitable time for the consultation.
We encourage members to provide as much detail as possible on the form so that the consultation can be focused on helping you achieve the desired outcomes. You will also be able to indicate on the form which days and times would best suit you for your consultation.
