Plumbing and Fire Service Training Qualifications

15 November 2018

The plumbing and fire services training qualification is currently under review. Master Plumbers Australia (MPA) Ltd - representing and collaborating with Master Plumber Associations across the country in Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, Australian Capital Territory and the Northern Territory as well as New Zealand - has been working to develop a training package that meets the needs of industry and supports each state and territory.

Development of training packages are complex and there are a variety of views held by different parts of the training sector. The proposal put forward is supported by MPA.

MPA is confident that the proposal currently presented will meet the current and future needs of industry.

Presently, discussions are centered around the structure of the training package, and once agreed, further work will need to be undertaken on individual units of competencies and how they will look in each state and territory.

We are aware that there is information being circulated that we do not believe is accurate. It is important that you understand the facts about the proposed training package.
