The Plumbing Industry Council is an independent body working to protect public health and safety through Queensland 's plumbing and drainage licensing system. The newly established Plumbing Industry Council replaced the Plumbers and Drainers Board on 1 March 2010. The council grants plumbing and drainage licences and endorsements on licences.
